Eratap Beach Resort opened in December 2007 after a 2 year construction period and a lifetime of dreaming.
It was Vanuatu’s first high end boutique resort and the first Hotel in the South Pacific to make TripAdvisor’s Top 25 Hotels of the World list. Since opening, it has enabled many people from all corners of the world to come and experience the stunning natural beauty of Eratap and to meet the wonderful people who call this area home. Eratap means “hidden village” and despite this region being close to Port Vila the people of Eratap still exist on a largely subsistence level.
We are proud to have been able to provide employment and business to the local community and to become a part of the history of the Eratap region and Vanuatu itself.
Eratap Beach Resort is the first development of its kind in this area and we acknowledge the importance of practising responsible tourism.
Our aim is to provide guests with a unique holiday experience that has a limited impact on the natural environment and a positive impact on the surrounding community.
By restricting guest numbers, employing the community, as well as sourcing materials and produce locally, we have made a small start.
